Yellow Powder Solid Poly Aluminium Chloride (PAC)

Poly Aluminium Chloride (PAC), also known as aluminum chloride hydroxide, is a water-soluble, inorganic polymer with the general chemical formula [Al2(OH)nCl6-n]m. It is widely used in water treatment and many other industries due to its simplicity, wide applicability, low cost, and high efficiency.

PAC is a water treatment agent that destabilizes colloids in wastewater and causes them to aggregate.

PAC is a pre-hydrolyzed coagulant composed of aluminum, hydroxide, and chloride. The -OH groups are responsible for the basicity in PAC. The high positive charge density on aluminum makes it a strong destabilizer of negatively charged impurities suspended in water. This property makes PAC more cationic than alum, resulting in highly effective coagulation.

PAC-Y12 is a 12% yellow liquid with high basicity, containing a minimum of 12% Al2O3 and a basicity range of 75% to 85%.

This product is the best option for turbidity removal in water, offered by our company for both drinking water and wastewater treatment applications.
According to test results, the product meets standard specifications as follows:

Storage and Handling:

PAC should be stored in a moderate temperature environment, in a dry, well-ventilated area. It should be kept in sealed and closed containers, protected from physical damage and freezing. It should never undergo thermal decomposition, as hazardous decomposition products such as hydrochloric acid and aluminum oxides may be produced.

Benefits of Using 30% High Basicity Yellow Powder Solid Poly Aluminium Chloride (PAC-Y30)

This yellow solid poly aluminium chloride product, with its high positive charge, can deliver more efficient coagulation and turbidity removal at significantly lower doses compared to alum and ferric chloride. Additionally, it forms denser sludge, resulting in a smaller sludge volume.

As a coagulant, PAC neutralizes the negative charge of suspended particles and colloids, causing these turbidity-causing materials to settle in the water. Due to its superior sedimentation performance compared to traditional coagulants like ferric chloride and alum, and its ability to form larger flocs, PAC is much more effective in coagulation and flocculation.

This polymeric chemical leaves less residual aluminum in the water than other common aluminum-based coagulants, making it a safer choice for human health and environmental protection.

The consumption dose of this product, which has a pH between 3.5 and 5, is so low that it has no significant impact on the water’s pH. PAC maintains high performance efficiency across a wide range of pH and temperature conditions.

Compared to alum, PAC uses longer molecular chains and much higher electrical charge in solution for separation and purification, making it extremely effective in maximizing the physical flocculation process. PAC achieves better coagulation in water, especially in those with medium to high turbidity, compared to alum.

Overall, PAC offers several advantages over aluminum sulfate in processes, including:

  • Lower coagulant dosage
  • Effective performance across a wider pH range of raw water
  • Higher settling rates of produced flocs
  • Reduced filtration periods
  • Reduced need for coagulation aids

Applications of 30% High Basicity Yellow Powder Solid Poly Aluminium Chloride (PAC-Y30)

This PAC-Y30 product is highly effective in water turbidity removal and clarification, offering strong coagulation and flocculation properties. It is also useful in industrial water treatment and the wastewater treatment of various industries, including chemical, petrochemical, and pharmaceutical. Additionally, it finds applications in paper manufacturing, leather production, cosmetics, food processing, cement, paint, textiles, and more.
