Poly Aluminum Chloride (PAC), also known as Aluminum Hydroxide Chloride, is a water-soluble inorganic polymer with the general chemical formula [Al2(OH)nCl6-n]m. It is widely used in water treatment and many other industries due to its simplicity, wide range of applications, low cost, and high efficiency.
PAC acts as a water treatment agent that destabilizes the colloids present in wastewater, causing them to aggregate.
PAC is a pre-hydrolyzed coagulant consisting of aluminum, hydroxide, and chloride. The -OH groups are responsible for the basicity of PAC, while the positive charge density on aluminum makes it a strong destabilizer against negatively charged impurities present in water. This property makes PAC more cationic than aluminum, enhancing its effectiveness.
The white liquid Poly Aluminum Chloride produced by this company has a concentration of 17% and an average basicity, designated as PAC-W17. It contains a minimum of 17% Al2O3 and a basicity between 40% and 50%. It is noteworthy that white PAC is produced through a different process compared to yellow PAC and in separate reactors.
This product is the best option for removing turbidity from water and is supplied by this company for use in the treatment of both drinking water and wastewater.
The specifications of this product, according to test results, comply with standards and are presented as follows:
Poly Aluminum Chloride should be stored at a moderate temperature in a dry location with adequate ventilation. This substance should preferably be kept in sealed and closed containers, protected from physical damage and freezing. It must never be subjected to thermal decomposition, as it can produce hazardous decomposition products, including hydrochloric acid and aluminum oxides.
The white liquid Poly Aluminum Chloride produced by this company, with its high positive charge, can demonstrate more efficient coagulation and turbidity removal performance even at significantly lower dosages compared to aluminum and ferric chloride. Additionally, it forms denser sludge, resulting in a reduced sludge volume.
This coagulant neutralizes the negative charge of suspended particles and colloids, causing the sedimentation of turbidity-causing substances in water. Due to its superior performance in sedimentation compared to conventional ferric chloride and aluminum coagulants, it is much more effective in coagulation and flocculation.
This polymeric chemical leaves less aluminum in the water compared to other conventional aluminum-based coagulants, making it highly effective for human health and environmental protection.
The dosage of this substance, which has a pH range of 3.5 to 5, is low enough not to significantly affect the pH of the water and maintains its high performance across a wide range of pH levels and temperatures.
Compared to aluminum, PAC can utilize longer molecular chains and a much higher electric charge in solution for separation and purification. It also maximizes the physical flocculation process. PAC provides better coagulation in waters, especially those with medium to high turbidity.
In general, the use of PAC offers numerous advantages over aluminum sulfate in the purification process, including:
The Poly Aluminum Chloride (PAC-W17) produced by this company is a highly effective substance for the removal of water turbidity and clarification, possessing excellent coagulation and flocculation capabilities. Additionally, it is effective for the treatment of industrial water and wastewater from various chemical, petrochemical, and pharmaceutical industries.
Moreover, it finds applications in paper production, leather processing, cosmetics and personal care industries, food industry, cement, paint, textiles, and more.
